Esthetics and Lash Extension Instructor

Position Summary
The Institute Rockwall is seeking an experienced, student-centered Esthetics and Lash Extension Instructor to prepare aspiring beauty professionals for successful careers in esthetics and eyelash extension services.
The instructor will deliver engaging classroom and hands-on instruction, demonstrate safe and effective techniques, evaluate student progress, maintain accurate records, and foster a professional learning environment. The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise with patience, clear communication, organization, and a genuine commitment to student success.
Primary Responsibilities
Teach esthetics and eyelash extension theory and practical skills in accordance with the school’s curriculum and applicable Texas requirements.
Provide demonstrations and supervised practice in skincare, facials, hair removal, makeup application, eyelash extensions, sanitation, safety, client consultation, and related services.
Prepare lesson plans, instructional materials, practical exercises, and student activities.
Monitor students during classroom, laboratory, and clinic-floor activities.
Evaluate student performance through written assignments, examinations, practical demonstrations, and competency assessments.
Provide timely, constructive feedback and additional support to students who need assistance.
Track attendance, grades, practical requirements, completed services, and other required student records.
Prepare students for applicable licensing examinations and professional employment.
Enforce sanitation, infection-control, safety, and client-protection procedures.
Ensure tools, equipment, treatment areas, and instructional spaces are properly maintained.
Model professional conduct, appearance, communication, time management, and client service.
Promote an inclusive, respectful, and encouraging learning environment.
Participate in staff meetings, training, student orientations, school events, and professional-development activities.
Maintain current knowledge of esthetics practices, lash techniques, products, equipment, safety standards, and industry trends.
Perform other education-related duties assigned by school leadership.
Instructional Areas
Instruction may include:
Skin analysis and client consultation
Facial treatments and skincare protocols
Cleansing, exfoliation, masks, and product application
Facial equipment and treatment-room safety
Hair-removal techniques
Makeup fundamentals
Eyelash-extension theory and application
Classic, hybrid, and volume lash techniques
Lash mapping, styling, fills, maintenance, and removal
Adhesive safety and environmental considerations
Contraindications and client aftercare
Sanitation, disinfection, and infection control
Professional ethics and client communication
Retailing, rebooking, and basic business practices
Licensing-examination preparation
Required Qualifications
Current Texas credentials required to legally practice and teach the assigned subjects.
Professional experience providing esthetics and eyelash-extension services.
Strong understanding of sanitation, disinfection, safety, and client-protection practices.
Ability to demonstrate services clearly and supervise students during hands-on work.
Effective verbal, written, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to maintain accurate and timely student records.
Dependable attendance and willingness to work the schedule required by the program.
Commitment to maintaining all required licenses, certifications, and continuing education.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous teaching, training, coaching, or mentoring experience.
Experience in a beauty school, career school, salon, spa, or clinical education environment.
Advanced lash-extension education or certification.
Experience preparing students for licensing examinations.
Familiarity with digital learning platforms and student-record systems.
Current CPR or first-aid certification.
Physical Requirements
This position may require the ability to:
Stand or sit for extended instructional periods.
Demonstrate detailed services requiring manual dexterity and close visual attention.
Bend, reach, and move around classrooms and clinic areas.
Lift and carry instructional supplies or equipment of a reasonable weight.
Work safely around cosmetic products, adhesives, disinfectants, and treatment equipment.

Schedule
The schedule may include daytime, evening, or weekend classes based on program needs. Applicants should indicate their availability when applying. Our regular business hours are Tuesday through Saturday. We are open until 8:30 pm on Tuesday and Thursday; until 6 pm on Wednesday; and 3 pm on Friday and Saturday.
All of our programs are hybrid. Students are expected to attend a minimum of 4, 4-hour shifts per week. Additionally, students are expected to spend 15-20 hours per week working online in theory lessons. Instructors may or may not be assigned online duties. At this time, we do not anticipate hiring any fully online instructors. Most part-time instructors will be scheduled 20 to 25 hours per week.
