Bringing Lamar State College Orange to Rockwall County

Rockwall County is growing, and access to local higher education should grow with it. Through a partnership centered on public service, Lamar State College Orange is bringing career-focused college opportunities closer to Rockwall County students. Programs in areas such as criminal justice, personal care services, business, and education can prepare students for meaningful careers while allowing them to begin their college education close to home.

Rockwall County is not part of a higher education taxing district, so expanding access to local college programs requires a different approach. As one of four public state colleges in Texas, Lamar State College Orange operates under a funding model different from locally taxed community college districts. This partnership creates an opportunity to offer affordable, workforce-aligned education programs that prepare students for careers in teaching, early childhood education, instructional support, school administration, and other roles that help learners succeed and strengthen the community.

Beginning with the Spring 2027 Semester, The Institute Rockwall in partnership with Lamar State College Orange is proud to offer the following options for adult learners:

Teacher Education Certificate - 18 Semester Credit Hours (6 courses)

Associate of Arts - Teaching

Driven by Passion

At The Institute, powered by FACT Education Inc. (FACT Ed), we are not here to follow trends, we are here to create lasting opportunities. As the Texas Regional Pathways Network Regional Convener for North Central Texas, FACT Ed brings together education, industry, workforce, and community partners to develop stronger pathways from the classroom to college and meaningful careers. With vision, collaboration, and a deep commitment to the communities we serve, we turn ideas into programs that connect people with education, opportunity, and brighter futures. Every initiative is a chance to learn, grow, and create measurable impact. We treat students, families, educators, employers, and community organizations as valued partners, and we approach our work as a long-term commitment to regional success.
